Emphasis on wash upkeep in Fountain Hills is showing results

Public Works updates town council on progress

Overgrown washes in Fountain Hills have caused some alarm on the part of residents over the past year due to the extreme threat of fire danger.

The effort has prompted homeowners’ groups to step up and address washes that are part of their open space common areas.

The town has also increased its efforts to reduce the threat of fire moving through the channeled arteries throughout the town. At a recent council meeting, Public Works Director Justin Weldy gave council members a review of ongoing efforts to address hazards in the washes.
