“Why are we having all these people from [expletive] countries coming here?”
Enough! This white nationalist, racist rhetoric regularly coming from the president is unacceptable. Congress must find their patriotism and courage and say, “No, this is a bridge too far.”
Trump told us exactly who he was when he came down the escalator and labeled Mexicans as criminals and rapists. We should have condemned him then but we fed the monster by electing him to the highest office in the land.

He continues to stoke our fears by fixating on “protecting us from dangerous immigrants” (against facts to the contrary) and seeking to deport hundreds of thousands of Salvadorans, Haitians, Africans and other brown-skinned folks who are currently legally contributing to our country as doctors, entrepreneurs, members of the military, etc.
And for the DACA kids, this is the only country they’ve ever known yet every day 120 of them lose their protected status, their ability to work and their safety from deportation.
Trump’s statement, “We don’t need more Haitians – take them out – put me down for wanting more Europeans” exposes his real intent to “make America white again” under the misnomer “merit-based” immigration.
Be aware of the consequences. Any large deportations would economically devastate our country as well as the deportees. And the demeaning of certain races plays right into ISIS’ recruiting efforts.
Trump becomes more erratic and unhinged every day. His tweets display racism, admiration for dictators and a frightening casualness about possible nuclear confrontation with North Korea. Hawaii’s false alarm missile threat highlighted the fact that infantile “my button’s bigger than yours” tweets are insanely dangerous.
Congress, do your job now. Trump’s words and actions don’t reflect our nation’s values of freedom and equality for all and are extremely destructive and divisive!
