If you truly love living in Fountain Hills and want to maintain its small town charm, vote yes for the primary property tax.
If you fail to vote yes, the town will be forced to cut some services even further than it has in the past 10 years, or increase fees. Why? Because State law requires communities to operate with a balanced budget, meaning expenses cannot exceed revenues. It’s that simple.
If you’re on the fence about whether to support the proposed tax, consider the following possibility. What if the town council decides it cannot risk the consequences of cutting services any further and begins to fund certain things by gradually increasing the environmental fee? Keep in mind, they can do that without your vote and the cost is not deductible!

What’s more equitable, a tax based on property values and regulated by state law or a fee that can be increased anytime, in any amount, and is not respectful of personal income? The choice is yours.
