Evaporation test shows no issue with Fountain Hills lake

Testing for potential liner leaking

Since it has been about 25 years since the impermeable liner in Fountain Lake was replaced, Town of Fountain Hills officials have been keeping a wary eye for a potential leakage problem, even to the point of putting aside money for the eventual multi-million-dollar liner replacement project.

At a recent Town Council meeting, Community Services Director Kevin Snipes gave the council some good news – the lake liner does not appear to be leaking, at least not to be noticed.

In September the town brought in Black and Veatch Engineering to assess Fountain Lake and systems related to the fountain and its operations. Part of that assessment was an evaporation test to detect possible leaking from the lake.
