Evelyn Yvonne Smith-Rogers “Bonnie,” of Fountain Hills passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at age 79.

Bonnie was a truly remarkable woman. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Bonnie was born April 16, 1937 in Bristow, Okla. to William and Maudie (Moss) Rogers. She had two brothers, William and Floyd; and three sisters, Maxine, Shirley and Betty.

Bonnie was married to Harold Smith on Feb. 13, 1955 in Florence, Ariz. and had five children. She held several jobs in her life, but none were more important than being a great mother and homemaker.

Bonnie loved old movies, long talks with those whom she loved and spending time with her great grandchildren. She had a huge impact on the lives of her family members. She brought so much love and joy to all those who knew her. Her family members are deeply saddened by her loss. Life without her will simply never be the same.

She is survived by four children, Pamela Smith, Lorrain (Dan) Morris, Eddie Smith and Chrissy (Brandon) Goodrich; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine (Darryl) Alexander and Betty Talbott and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Harold Smith; daughter, Tami Smith-Jones; grandson, Randall Lomonaco; her parents; sister, Shirley as well as both her brothers, William and Floyd Rogers.

Bonnie was laid to rest on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street, Mesa. Graveside services were held and a celebration of life receptions followed at the home of her granddaughter, Danielle (Dick) Despain.

How lucky we are to have known someone who was so hard to say goodbye to. She taught us so much, but never how to live without her. Until we meet again, she will live in our hearts.
