The National Weather Service is forecasting extreme heat through the week and into nest weekend. An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued through p.m. Saturday, 24 June 21.
Temperatures in Fountain Hills are forecast to reach 110 to 115 by the middle of the week with some moderation into next weekend. The extreme heat risk is increased by overnight lows in the mid-80s over the coming week.
People are advised to drink plenty of water and avoid drinks with alcohol, sugar and caffeine. Avoid prolonged periods in the heat and be watchful of children, pets and elderly neighbors and relatives. Outdoor work and exercise should be done in the early morning hours.
