A strong high pressure system is increasing the temperatures to near record levels and in excess of 110 degrees. Overnight lows for much of the Valley will be near 90 degrees.
For Fountain Hills the forecast calls for a high of 108 on Thursday and overnight lows in the low 80s.

Excessive heat warning in effect

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning that includes the Phoenix metro area through 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 24.
A strong high pressure system is increasing the temperatures to near record levels and in excess of 110 degrees. Overnight lows for much of the Valley will be near 90 degrees.
For Fountain Hills the forecast calls for a high of 108 on Thursday and overnight lows in the low 80s.
Drink plenty of fluids and avoid strenuous exercise in the heat of the day.
Thunderstorms are back in the forecast going into the weekend.
