Fountain Hills Student Exchange: Fountain Hills Sister Cities partners with Fountain Hills High School students for exchange trips overseas.
Dierdorf, Germany, is Fountain Hills’ Sister City and a student exchange has been going on for some time. The benefits for the students are numerous and lasting friendships are cemented as a result.
Learning about history, art or literature embarks on a life of its own when students can actually visit historical sites, castles and museums. Students experience different cultures and they create memories that will not soon be forgotten; let alone the increased maturity and confidence students gain from these experiences.

FHHS is currently working on an exchange trip that will focus on art and will take the students to Dierdorf and to our newest Sister City in Poland in the summer of 2017. These trips are special because students stay with host families learning about family life and they will visit local schools to get a glimpse into other education systems.
Language is not a barrier; most German high school students have an excellent command of the English language. These are educational and fun experiences that typical tourists will never be able to enjoy.
German and Polish students are looking forward to their trips to Fountain Hills and the surrounding area. Host stays are typically with families of like-minded students to enrich the learning experience from these exchanges.
Fountain Hills Sister City Corporation is proud to help support these programs. Coordinator Jennifer Ray is currently signing up students for this travel opportunity. Jennifer is fluent in German and as a result has had the opportunity to visit Germany on several occasions.
Please contact Jennifer at jray@fhusd.org about the Sister City trip to Germany/Poland. Past exchange pictures are on Facebook under “Dierdorf student exchange.”
