Exciting amenity

The idea of creating a lagoon in Fountain Lake that could provide several new activities for residents and visitors of all ages is the kind of “out-of-the-box” thinking our community needs. Such a project would be entirely within the scope of the Town’s new Strategic Plan.

This project could be an anchor for a much-needed improved “downtown” or one more reason to choose Fountain Hills as the community to raise a family.

The lagoon will require a significant investment in both initial capital and ongoing operational costs. Both require a reasonable return on investment. Town leaders are fully capable of determining the basis for and requirement for a reasonable return on that investment.

The lagoon may go the way of many other projects and be shelved for lack of funding. But until that’s determined, the Council and community should evaluate it as an exciting amenity to this amazing place we call Fountain Hills.
