I read with interest the last few months the mud-slinging (reminded me of high school) concerning new taxes, etc.

Fountain Hills was known as “prestigious;” now if you talk to people all you hear is “expensive.”

I am retired and have been coming here for about five years as a renter and condo owner. This town needs to live within its means or at least attempt this. You drive around this city and see so many empty storefronts. You see this new complex being built. I don’t see how this could possibly be filled with renters and new stores. You will have a business move there and just close down another storefront in Fountain Hills.

I agree with the ad placed by Charles Vascellaro. If residents already voted twice and said no, why does this city continue to throw another vote down voters’ throats? Once a tax is passed, it will never go away. What may start as a small tax will just continue to grow year by year.

I love how we’re supposed to snitch on our neighbor if they may be renting, in case they are not paying their fair share of taxes. On and on.

It looks like this city is a losing battle and will be in much more trouble as the years go by.

And, yes, I believe if you don’t like it, you should leave. My condo is for sale.
