Extended Hands Food Bank in Fountain Hills has declining donations

Many families still feeling the pinch

Over the last three years, the Extended Hands Food Bank in Fountain Hills has experienced a gradual decline in donations while being met with greater numbers of food bank recipients every week.

The food bank’s Assistant Director Allyson Rahn says the decline in donations may have something to do with resources from its agency partner, St. Mary’s Food Bank.

Extended Hands Food Bank is one of 800-plus food bank partners tied to St. Mary’s Food Bank, the largest food bank in Arizona and the state representative for the U.S. Hunger Relief Organization, Feeding America.
