I have just had a real eye opener. I attended my first Planning and Zoning Commission meeting last week.
We have tried to stress bringing in new businesses to our town. Well, one is trying to do that. The applicant appeared before the commission and was put through a lot of hoops for, quite frankly, nothing other than for some of the members of the commission to hear themselves talk.
The impression I had from being there was one of negativity. Some applicants could be discouraged from taking the negativity from the commission.

The town needs to look at our approval process. The image we want to give, I would think, is one of being helpful and cooperative. My opinion of our process, based upon my experience last Thursday evening, was far short of that.
