Never has there been a President, whose job is to protect and defend the American people, so intent on inflicting harm on them to make a political point of his liking, when the sequester was the rare original idea he himself proposed. Saul Alinsky would be proud.
Since the sequester cuts are not really cuts at all, only reduced amounts of previously planned future spending, over a 10- year period, it’s astounding how incompetent this administration is at running anything.

The FAA has a $12.75 billion budget, so reduction amounts to less than $600 million over 10 years, and they actually received more money than they requested, leaving unused monies available for prioritizing.
According to their own website, they do 26 percent less work and have fewer flights than in 2002. Yet they have more people and spend more in 2013.
Sadly, they were instructed to furlough air traffic controllers, jeopardizing Americans’ lives and safety, rather than cutting fat/waste within. Ex: $500 million for consultants, $325 million on supplies and travel (can the FAA not deadhead for less?).
My personal favorite expense is a new, yes new, grant program of $474 million to develop “sustainable communities” aka Agenda 21. The FAA has as much to do with local community development as NASA has to do with Muslim outreach, but it is an Obama world.
Those who blindly entrust government with so much central control may serve themselves well by revisiting history to see the end result, and realize “absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Search into the massively intrusive government programs like Agenda 21/ICLEI and Common Core, and judge for yourselves.
It took Congress, passing a specific bill, allowing moving unused money within the FAA, all because Obama refused to accept the bill that allowed departments to prioritize -- we got change!
