I was pleased to hear that the U.S. Senate passed the Mainstreet Fairness Act a couple of weeks ago.
That is the bill that will force online retailers to pay sales tax on the items they sell, essentially putting them on equal footing with businesses that have stores in our community.

I was pleased to hear that the U.S. Senate passed the Mainstreet Fairness Act a couple of weeks ago.
That is the bill that will force online retailers to pay sales tax on the items they sell, essentially putting them on equal footing with businesses that have stores in our community.
Fountain Hills is lucky to have many unique and wonderful stores, but they need all the help they can get to combat giant online retailers who bring nothing to our community. Let’s hope that our House representatives follow the Senate’s stance and make this bill a law. Small business owners deserve it.
