Fountain Hills High School will be transformed into a rock and roll venue Saturday, April 1, as the first ever Falcon Jam Festival sets up shop on the home football field.

The event is scheduled to run from 3 to 9 p.m. and is free to the public. All ages are invited to attend this event, with drink and food proceeds going on to benefit the Fountain Hills Unified School District Athletic Boosters.

To get this Falcon Jam off the ground, community members John Margolis and Greg Golucci partnered up with Booster president John Hoyt.

“We wanted to create an event where kids could see other kids their age playing, at this level,” Margolis said. “All of these bands are so good. Wait until you hear them. It’s unbelievable.”

Margolis said the purpose of the event is to provide a fun, free evening of entertainment for the whole community while showcasing local teen talent and benefiting FHUSD student athletes.

Rock groups set to perform span the spectrum, as the show will kick off with Hippie Gold from 3 to 3:45 p.m. The remaining bands are comprised of talented teens, including Cuervo, Good Boy Daisy, Phoenicia, Like Fire and the School of Rock Sugar Skulls.

Margolis said this will be a “battle of the bands” concert, with fans getting to pick their favorite performances of the night.

“It’s perfect for families,” Margolis said. “Great music, all local businesses involved, a local group benefiting from food sales. It’s just something we wanted to bring to Fountain Hills, for the community.”

According to Margolis, this free event would not be possible without the support of the community. Kern Entertainment will provide the stage, which will be set up at the center of the high school football field. Donations were made by Golucci Insurance, Wendy’s, Faces Hair & Color Studio, as well as Mods Hot Rods and the Fountain Hills Barbershop. Margolis said special thanks also goes to Shane and Megan Baskerville, School of Rock, Euro Pizza, Steve Costa and Waisted Grain. Making sure this is a high-flying event will be Jack Fedor and Co. doing a flyover during the show.

“We want this to be a big event,” Golucci added. “We’d like to see it grow and become an annual show.”

To enjoy the Falcon Jam Festival, simply load up the family and friends and head to the high school football field beginning at 3 p.m. on April 1.
