Fountain Hills High School sent a team of students to compete against 17 other schools in the annual Math and Science Field Day, hosted by Scottsdale Community College.
Throughout the day, participants tested their minds in the fields of math and science, as well as project-based competitions.
According to advisor Dr. Paul McElligott, Fountain Hills took third overall in the project area, which involved predicting the most pennies the team could float on an aluminum boat using buoyancy formulas. That team was comprised of Michal Sunchanek, John Adams and Darrean Smith.
