Information provided by Habitat for Humanity reflects the appreciation of the family. The Ruemler family’s Habitat for Humanity home became much more than just a place to live—it laid a foundation for growth, stability, and opportunity. Moving in 10 years ago, they hoped for a safe, stable environment for their children. Today, they look back and see how it exceeded their dreams, a Habitat statement says.

“Our Habitat home gave us stability,” the Ruemlers said. It became a refuge, not only for their family but for friends and loved ones. They even converted their garage into a healing space for their mother during a difficult time, transforming their home into a place of comfort and recovery for many.

Their Habitat home provided the Ruemlers financial relief, freeing them from the stress of rent increases and enabling them to focus on their children’s future. Their daughter, Bailey, is now studying veterinary medicine, and their son, Titus, discovered his passion for filmmaking and is pursuing a degree in directing. The family even achieved financial freedom, paying off all debts, a milestone they once thought impossible.

They said living in their Habitat home brought them closer to their neighbors, fostering lasting friendships and support. “We watched each other’s kids, shared meals and built lifelong connections.”

“We are so thankful to the Verdes Habitat for Humanity Project, whose support made this possible,” the Ruemlers said. “Habitat was our only chance at homeownership, and your support changed everything for us.”

Their home has allowed them to extend blessings to others, opening their doors to friends, family and even strangers in need. Their message to future Habitat families is simple: “Trust the process and cherish the journey.”

The Verde Communities are currently in the fundraising process to sponsor and build their 29th home for Habitat for Humanity.
