Family Discovery Day new addition to Flutter ‘24

Fountain Hills fundraiser is April 13

Posted

One of Flutter at the Fountain’s newest activities, Family Discovery Day, is being organized by a couple of Fountain Hills’ newest residents, Sarah and Jake Rogers.

Their goal, Sarah Rogers says, is to bring exposure to the different businesses and organizations throughout town that cater to families and youth and to have some fun in the process.

Family Discovery Day is part of a three-day Flutter at the Fountain fundraiser for the Fountain Hills Community Foundation (FHCF).

The activity takes place Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids under 18 years of age are free; adults pay a $5 entrance fee. Tickets are available at Flutter24.GiveSmart.com or at the gate on the day of the event.

“We’ll have inflatables, face painting and food trucks as well as a stage for performances by some of the organizations,” says Sarah Rogers.

Tender Little Hearts Equine Therapy’s miniature horses and donkeys will be on hand along with a few martial arts and dance organizations and the Fountain Hills Youth Theater. In keeping with the Hometown Heroes theme, representatives from the fire department will also be present.

Although the Rogers family are new residents of Fountain Hills, they are no strangers to working with children and families. Jake is campus pastor at Generations Church and Sarah is a TV Producer for the Dr. Phil show and is involved locally with the FHUSD PTO.

The family moved from the west side of Phoenix to Fountain Hills in March 2023.

“Families are a big part of our hearts and what we want to see flourish in Fountain Hills,” Sarah said. “When we were asked to coordinate the event, it just seemed very aligned with our hearts and passions for Fountain Hills.”

Proceeds from Flutter at the Fountain fund grants for local nonprofit organizations that serve seniors, children and families through the FHCF, according to a press release.

The organization, originally known as the Sunridge Foundation, was formed in 1995. To date, it has provided more than $1.5 million in financial support for local nonprofits.
