Family History group meets Monday
Posted
Tony Bucci will be the featured speaker Monday, May 12, at the monthly meeting of the Fountain Hills Chapter of the Family History Society of Arizona.
Bucci will share information about “Digging for Your Ancestors in Legal Sources.”
Bucci received his library science degree from the University of Arizona in 1994.
For more than 18 years he has served as a law librarian and cataloger for the State Library of Arizona.
He is a native of San Pedro, Calif., where as a teen he became interested in family history. That interest led to research on his family’s ancestry in Italy, Switzerland and Croatia.
Bucci also enjoys singing in a men’s chorus, researching local history, and is a fanatic for everything Route 66.
Monday’s meeting will be at the Community Center, 13001 N. La Montana, between the Library and Town Hall.
The general meeting starts at 9 a.m. and the guest speaker will begin at 10 a.m. Chapter member Joanne Thyken also will give a mini session on orphan trains. How many genealogy buffs have even heard of this topic? Everyone interested in history research will find this useful and exciting information.
The Fountain Hills Chapter of the Family History Society of Arizona meets every month from September through May on the second Monday of each month. Everyone is invited to attend and mentors are always happy to assist beginners in family research.
