With 17 years as a master electrician, Mark Derksen has seen it all — particularly the consequences of poor electrical work. From unreadable blueprints to unsafe wiring, Derksen has made it his mission to protect customers from shoddy jobs, one project at a time.
After years with a large electrical company that left him burned out, Derksen shifted to a lighting distribution firm, helping commercial clients upgrade to energy-efficient LED systems. In 2019, he earned his Registrar of Contractors license, became bonded and insured and launched Dirk’s Electric. Today, he offers residential and commercial electrical services with a focus on quality and safety.
Dirk’s Electric is a family affair: his daughter Noelle manages the office and materials, his son Logan is training to become a journeyman electrician and Devon DeOrio is also working toward journeyman status. Whether it’s customizing a home theater or ensuring smoke alarms are functioning properly, Derksen and his team ensure safety comes first.
