Regarding the Lagoon fantasy, the “nice to haves” have returned. The people are being ignored again. Two-dollar swim tickets won’t cut it; this bleeder has to go. I smell asphalt, if you know what I mean.
Roads are necessary and cost money. I personally don’t care for my piggy bank (property taxes) to be bled again with another road bond because the Town cannot live within its means. My vote will be no, and representatives in favor of the lagoon will receive a no vote, too.
Bad investments and financial hardships have been experienced by many. Councilman Tolis may be a great guy, but he’s no exception. Whoever’s pushing for this project, do not drag the town further down, financially. Can you tell me there’s no alternative motive or financial gain to be had here?

The highest and best use must be considered with all four of these a must: Physically possible, legally permissible, financially feasible and maximally productive. Two of four doesn’t work. Read this twice.
Perhaps the person(s) who want this pool can foot the bill and donate it to the town. I smell fish, not asphalt. The bleed will still be high due to insurance cost (risk and possible future flood hazard area), lawsuits and repair and maintenance. Again, will two-buck-chuck tickets pay for this?
Listen to the people who you represent. Shift your attention to the town’s existing resources for entertainment such as a skating event around Avenue of the Fountains where people are placed right in front of businesses. Add a horseshoe pit between the restaurants and splash park, in front of businesses. The outdoor concert area at the park is being under-utilized.
Push through asphalt instead of a nice-to-have lagoon that will benefit you-know-who.
