I have the privilege to be both a volunteer and part-time staff member of Fearless Kitty Rescue. I have seen firsthand how the Republic Services Grant has afforded us the opportunity to serve the community of Fountain Hills, save the lives of cats and enrich the lives of adopters in our community.
Because of the grant we received from Republic Services, the calls we get to help with strays from residents within Fountain Hills is always answered with a “yes.” There is no cost passed on to an individual for this. And we take the cat within a 24-hour timeframe. This is regardless of any future costs of housing, feeding, providing medical care for the animal. It may be for the remainder of the cat’s life, which we always hope is many, many years.

Our ability to “get strays off the streets” of this town depends on funding. Receiving this Grant gives us the chance to do this work without severely impacting the other work we do as a rescue, such as TNVR (Trap, Neuter, Vaccine, Return), working with other county and municipal agencies to lower the number of animals euthanized and help find homes for cats being displaced due to circumstances beyond the control of their owners.
We do what we do because there is a need, we are part of this community and we love saving lives and helping fulfill the lives of people within this community. But it does not get done for free.
This is why I am asking all of you to please vote for Fearless Kitty Rescue in the Republic Services Grant. You have until Nov. 26. Please help us continue to serve our community in this needed work. Thank you.
