Fearless Kitty Rescue has announced a free microchip event for cats and dogs.
The free microchip event is Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Fearless Kitty Rescue’s north parking lot, 16832 E. Avenue of the Fountains.
The free event is made possible by a donation of microchips from fi-NANO, and no appointments are required. Cats must be in carriers and dogs must be on leashes.

The American Veterinary Medical Association reports that one in three pets will go missing at some point. Of those, only 22% of dogs and less than 2% of cats are returned to their families. The percentage rises dramatically when pets are microchipped.
