In case you missed it in this week’s A1 story, the holiday season really kicks it into high gear in Fountain Hills this Saturday, Dec. 3. The big guy in the red suit will be visiting for a full day of activities, joining residents and visitors alike for breakfast and sticking around until well after the sun goes down.

The whole shebang starts off at Breakfast with Santa, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Community Center. Stop by for breakfast, holiday music and treats and, yep, your first chance of the day to run into Santa Claus.

Beginning at 2 p.m. in the same location, the festivities continue with the Candy Cane Celebration, a party that’s perfect for making personal ornaments, enjoying more holiday-themed goodies and more. And while you’re there, don’t forget to take a gander at the holiday model train display and enjoy even more musical entertainment while St. Nicholas makes his way around the room, greeting some of his biggest fans.

After a brief break, the fun will keep on rolling right around the corner from the Community Center as the Stroll in the Glow event kicks off on Avenue of the Fountains, beginning at 5 p.m. Along with even more face time with Santa, visitors will enjoy a live nativity, even more festive snacks and the unveiling of the 14-foot-tall poinsettia tree. And once the sun sinks behind the horizon, all of those wonderful lights will be switched on, giving folks a chance to take in the warm glow of the famous downtown displays.

If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit, then you’ve got a full roster of events lined up this weekend to help get the job done.
