Fountain Hills Art League will resume its monthly meetings Monday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 in the Fountain Hills Community Center.

The group meets the first Monday of each month with a featured artist presenting a demonstration of their unique techniques. The October meeting will feature art chairs created for the fundraiser, “Chairish the Moment,” where the best chair will be awarded a $100 prize. Additionally, members are encouraged to bring a piece of their artwork created during the summer; they can discuss their ideas and techniques at the meeting.

The league sponsors a three-day self-guided tour, of local artists’ studios and art sale which will be held March 2-4, 2018. Donations are collected at the participating studios on the tour and the money is used to promote art in local schools.

Registration deadline for artists to show and sell their work on the Tour d’Artistes is Oct. 2. Registration is $50 for those who serve on a committee to help with the tour tasks. There is a late registration date. Those who do not serve on a committee have until Nov. 6 to sign up. Registration fees then are $100.

The registration form is available at FountainHillsArtLeague.com and at the Oct. 2 meeting. Artist participation in the tour is open to all local artists who join the Fountain Hills Art League. Artists are welcome to attend and learn more about the Art League and the tour.

There is a tour planning meeting Monday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Pub at Fountain View Village for everyone planning to join a committee. Committee assignments will be finalized at this planning meeting.
