The Fountain Hills Democratic Club held its August meeting on August 9 with a capacity and enthusiastic crowd crowd attending. After socializing over pizza and soft drinks, the attendees were informed and motivated by a roster of inspiring speakers. Roberta Miller, candidate for Clerk of Maricopa Superior Court, was most informative about the role and importance of that office, explaining that the Clerk has the responsibility of overseeing retribution payments, among other duties, and how that system has been failing citizens thus far and needs better management.
Miguel Medrano, Executive Director of the Maricopa County Democratic Committee, updated us on the progress that the Committee has made in recruiting and supporting an excellent slate of candidates countywide. Miguel was an inspiring speaker who encouraged all present to get involved in helping to elect these outstanding Democratic candidates.
