A Christmas Carol: The Musical, the popular musical adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ classic holiday tale, opens at Fountain Hills Theater Friday, Dec. 4.

A miserly and miserable man, Ebenezer Scrooge greets each Christmas with a “bah humbug,” until he is visited one Christmas Eve by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future.

Through a restless night, the spirits show him happy memories from his past, cruel realities from the present and the grim future should he continue his cantankerous ways.

With a new musical adaptation by Fountain Hills Theater Artistic Director Peter J. Hill, Scrooge’s story of redemption remains as powerful and uplifting as it ever was.

Working closely with Dicken’s original text, Hill has crafted a new musical for the stage that has taken the spirit of the season, wrapped it in beautiful original melodies and tied it with all the holiday magic and wonder of your childhood.

The world premiere of the holiday classic was greeted with cheers in 2013.

A Christmas Carol is produced by Patricia Tonzi and directed by Peter J. Hill with musical direction by Jay Melberg. Noel Irick choreographs.
