A Fountain Hills woman died of injuries received in an accident at a Costco gas station on Hayden Road in Scottsdale on Saturday, Jan. 4.
Pat Covault, 74, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Her vehicle at the gas pumps was struck by a Jeep SUV driven by a man, 86.
Covault got out of her vehicle to investigate when she was struck by the same driver and dragged a short distance.
The man, who was not identified, will not be charged, according to Scottsdale Police.
Covault was well known as an active volunteer in Fountain Hills.
A memorial service for her will be held at the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17.
