Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an incident involving “creepy” clowns, a recent phenomenon currently reported with various incidents nationwide.
On Friday, Oct. 7, the Sheriff’s Office in Fountain Hills received a report from the mother of a 13-year-old juvenile male. The boy had been walking through Golden Eagle Park near the high school when he was approached by three people dressed as clowns.
The subjects began swinging a baseball bat as they walked toward the juvenile and slapping the bat on their hand, according to Sheriff’s Capt. Dave Letourneau, commander for MCSO District 7 based in Fountain Hills.

The male victim fled for home and was not injured.
