The Fountain Hills High School Band Boosters have put together a special performance for Friday night, Nov. 7, including the Falcon squad, local cowboy singing group The OK Chorale, and a special appearance by visiting members of Fountain Hills’ Sister City, Dierdorf, Germany.

This event is one night only at Plaza Fountainside, with festivities starting at 5 p.m.

Along with the live performances, there will also be raffles and prizes for those in attendance.

The FHHS marching band will entertain guests, alongside storytelling and country offerings from The OK Chorale. Visiting students from Dierdorf will also be in attendance, for those looking to welcome Fountain Hills’ special guests.

On Oct. 25, a dozen high school students and two teachers from Dierdorf arrived in Fountain Hills to spend two weeks here with host families.

This year’s student exchange them is all about music, and the German students are all participants in music programs in their home school.

Lynn Truby of the FHHS music program and Jennifer Horen Ray are coordinating the students’ stay here and showing them a great time during their first visit to the United States.

They will visit FHHS classes, participate in music competitions and have the opportunity to see the Grand Canyon.

Tickets for the event are limited and can be purchased beforehand at Euro Pizza or from a member of the FHHS Band Boosters. For more details, contact Kim Helm at 837-6070. Tickets will be $10 in advance and $20 at the door.

All proceeds will go to benefit the FHHS music program.

The Plaza Fountainside Merchants Association is helping organize the event. Performances will be on the patio behind the plaza.
