Congratulations to Principal Tom Brennan, FHHS faculty and all the student and parent groups involved in developing the newly-adopted Mission and Statement of Purpose for our high school (The Times 10/8).
As the saying goes, “Every journey begins with the first step,” and this first and most important stride will lead us to the excellence we seek in our educational system if the community gets behind and supports it with an equal amount of determination.
As an empty nester of some 20-plus years, I must admit I have not been as attentive to our school system as I might have been. I cannot tell you how pleased I am to learn that my grandchildren’s future education is cradled in such forward thinking and capable hands.

Our first step, vote yes on the November ballot issue.
