FHUSD Board discusses next year's calendar

At its Oct. 24 meeting, the Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board discussed the proposed calendar for the 2019-20 school year.
The schedule was decided upon by a Calendar Committee, whose members include all three school principals, teachers from all three schools and a PTO representative.
The committee met twice to review five different calendars with different sets of dates.
The calendar that the committee chose to propose to the school board has the first day of school on Aug. 6, 2019 and the last day on May 21, 2020.
The proposed calendar has school breaks as follows: Fall break is the week of Sept. 7, winter break is from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3 and spring break is the week of March 9.
The governing board will vote on the 2019-20 calendar at their next meeting scheduled for Nov. 14.
