FHUSD capital override passes

The Fountain Hills Unified School District capital override has passed by 100 votes.

It's taken a little over a week for the final votes to be counted, but it appears as though Fountain Hills voters have opted to continue funding for the FHUSD capital override, providing the local schools with an additional $5,250,000 annually for the next seven years. Funds will support district needs including textbooks, technology upgrades, transportation vehicles and more.

When initial results came out following the election on Nov. 4, the override was actually down by about 100 votes. Subsequent reports had the "yes" votes trending up, however, with a final count completely flipping the initial results as 4,739 voters were in favor of the override and 4,639 were against.
