FHUSD discusses updates to student handbooks

Proposed changes address device rules, graduation requirements and class rankings

Fountain Hills Unified School District schools are updating their student handbooks, with changes aimed at making school expectations clearer and more consistent for students and families.

Fountain Hills High School Principal Barry Pinto presented the proposed handbook changes to the governing board for discussion Aug. 19 at the board’s meeting.
Among the larger changes discussed were requiring students to use district-issued Chromebooks rather than bringing their own devices, bringing back the title of salutatorian, allowing students who graduate early to qualify as valedictorian and clarifying class and credit requirements for graduation.
