Filling the gaps at Fountain Hills Unified School District

School board approves an updated job description combining security and maintenance

The Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board unanimously approved a new job description that combines security and maintenance duties during its June 3 meeting.

Fountain Hills Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Cain Jagodzinski said the new job description is not a true combining of the two roles, but a way for security personnel to stay busy while students are off campus and security tasks are already handled.

“There’s downtime where our security guards don’t have students on campus, like right now in the summer,” he said. “You’re always a security guard first and that will never change.”
