If you want to meet a lot of nice people, lose your pet in Fountain Hills. I volunteer transporting dogs for an animal shelter. Thursday night I had a small Cain terrier mix named Gus escape from me.
Our search was unsuccessful. Friday morning neighbor Linda suggested calling Pals Inn and posting on Fountain Hills Connection. It was also posted on Fountain Hills Lost Pets. She also contacted Fountain Hills Pet Search, Rescue and Advisory Team, that will help you find your dog.
She made flyers, and Barney at Copy Express printed 50 flyers at no charge.

Another resident saw Gus with his leash. Thinking the owner may have fallen, she called the Sheriff’s Department who dispatched a helicopter. My compliments to the woman and the Sheriff’s Department for responding to what could have been a serious situation.
Fountain Hills Pet Search Rescue and Advisory Team joined our search, along with other Fountain Hills residents, until we had over 20 people looking for Gus. Gus was sighted and evaded us several times. At 10 p.m. we decide that trying to wear him out was not going to work.
Saturday morning at 6 a.m., Gus was spotted going into Gold Court at Kim. It was the perfect place to catch him, as Gold Court is a cul-de-sac that is walled at the end. Laura from the Advisory Team was called, and she came right over, with a couple of other team members. (She would qualify as a dog whisperer.) Gus was coaxed into a resident’s yard and home on Gold Court by Laura and the home owner. Safe at last! He is at Pals Inn recuperating.
Thanks to all Fountain Hills’ residents, Sheriff’s Dept., Pals Inn, Copy Express, Facebook, and the Fountain Hills Pet Search Rescue and Advisory Team!
