Fire Department has sand, some bags

The first wave of the latest storm moved through Fountain Hills during the lunch hour on Tuesday, dumping more than 1-inch of rain in some parts of town.

Those in low-lying areas or drainage issues may find some help with the Fountain Hills Fire Department. Chief Dave Ott said they have sand at Fire Station 1 on Palisades Boulevard and a few sand bags.

People can bring their own bags and be prepared to fill themselves. Firefighters can assist if they are available.
