Fire destroys FH home

Smoke billowing from the neighborhood near Palisades Boulevard and Sunflower Drive Monday afternoon sent numerous people, including an off-duty firefighter, to the scene of a house fire in the 15000 block of Tumbleweed Drive.

A couple and their adult son who live in the house were all at home at the time the fire broke out. They all got out along with four of five dogs at the house at the time. As of Tuesday morning, one dog, a small white poodle, was still missing. That dog did not belong to the homeowners but was one of four they were watching for friends.

All Fountain Hills fire units as well as additional help from Fort McDowell Fire Department responded to the blaze. The fire started in the garage and spread into the attic quickly.
