Fire hits Saguaro home for second time

On Saturday, June 11, firefighters and Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residential fire in the 11000 block of Saguaro Boulevard.
A passer-by saw smoke coming from near the front door and alerted the residents and helped them get out of the house.
The homeowners told deputies they had just moved back in a couple of weeks ago after an electrical fire damaged the house in approximately the same place.
Fire Chief Dave Ott said they received the call at approximately 6:30 p.m. with FH fire units from both stations responded to the report of smoke from a condo unit on Rand and Saguaro.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a working attic fire. Crews limited the fire to the one unit in the five unit complex.
The Crisis Response team responded and assisted the occupants with accommodations for the evening. The occupants of the other units were allowed to return to their homes.
