The Town Council will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 13, for a study session regarding proposals for relocating fire station #2 in Fountain Hills.

The meeting will allow staff to discuss the pros and cons related to two possible sites for the relocation - one on Shea Boulevard at the top of the hill east of Palisades Boulevard, and the second is on Fountain Hills Boulevard just north of Shea across from Muskrat Drive. Staff is recommending the Fountain Hills Boulevard site.

Staff has proposed the relocation to improve emergency response times and better balance the call load between the two fire stations in town.

The Town Council will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 13, for a study session regarding proposals for relocating fire station #2 in Fountain Hills.

The meeting will allow staff to discuss the pros and cons related to two possible sites for the relocation - one on Shea Boulevard at the top of the hill east of Palisades Boulevard, and the second is on Fountain Hills Boulevard just north of Shea across from Muskrat Drive. Staff is recommending the Fountain Hills Boulevard site.

Staff has proposed the relocation to improve emergency response times and better balance the call load between the two fire stations in town.

The town has budgeted about $3 million for the project.

The council study session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, in council chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public, however public comment is not normally heard during study sessions. The council will be making no decisions regarding the site at this meeting.
