Firewise Town Hall meeting in Fountain Hills

Set for Monday, Feb. 24

With fire prevention top of mind, a Firewise USA Town Hall meeting is set for 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at the Fountain Hills Community Center.

The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) is hosting the meeting in cooperation with the Fountain Hills Fire Department.

According to State Foresty officials, wildland firefighters responded to 27% more fires in Arizona in 2024  than the year prior. Those fires burned 283,000 acres of private, state, federal and tribal lands. The burned acreage was a 33% increase over the previous year.

With fire prevention top of mind, a Firewise USA Town Hall meeting is set for 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at the Fountain Hills Community Center.

The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) is hosting the meeting in cooperation with the Fountain Hills Fire Department.

According to State Foresty officials, wildland firefighters responded to 27% more fires in Arizona in 2024  than the year prior. Those fires burned 283,000 acres of private, state, federal and tribal lands. The burned acreage was a 33% increase over the previous year.

The meeting is open to the public, who are encouraged to ask questions. Those who attend will hear valuable information on how to better protect their property from the threat of wildfire, according to organizers.
