Fish fry

I’ve enjoyed volunteering at Jim Bob’s Fish & Chips located at the
Extended Hands Food Bank on Friday evenings since July 2012. I was
told that attendance had picked up recently but I was astounded at the
turn out last Friday!
There was a steady line and by 6:15 we needed to
lock the door as the last available portions of fish were being put into
the fryer. It was wonderful to be really busy and know that we were
raising much-needed funds for EHFB.
It’s hard to say if the increase in attendance is due to the “roll
back” of the price from $11.99 to $9.99, or if the seasonal visitors
really do make the difference. But the word is definitely out – Jim Bob’s Fish & Chips is the best!
I understand the concept of getting my “money’s worth.” I think it’s safe to say that most dining establishments do not include unlimited coffee and iced tea, or something for your sweet tooth, with the price of your meal.
This fish fry was created to raise funds for our food bank and Max’s Closet. These are charitable organizations trying to stay afloat in this economy to help the needy.
Here is something you may not know regarding condiments: anything you leave on the table unopened must be discarded. So, please, take one or
two...if you need more, we will gladly get more for you. If you don’t
care for coleslaw, let Dee know at the window. Help us cut down on waste.
