Flag Day will be celebrated in Fountain Hills on Saturday, June 13.

The 10 a.m. ceremony will be conducted at the Veterans Memorial on El Lago Blvd. at the southern end of Fountain Park.

The local Elks Lodge will be hosting and organizing the moving and educational ceremony.

The ceremony will celebrate the anniversary of the flag’s birth (June 14, 1777) and recall the achievements attained beneath its folds.

This educational story will be told through the display of nine historical flags. This will begin with the People of America’s flag that replaced the Flag of England and continue to the current 50-star flag adopted in 1960.

There will be patriotic music and inspiring words. This has been a Fountain Hills tradition for eight years.
