Flags for the Fallen

Hundreds turned out on a warm Memorial Day morning to honor those who gave their lives in service to the country.

Local service clubs with the help of scouting and veterans groups planted 2,300 flags in Fountain Park near the Veteran's Memorial to pay tribute to those men and women who gave their lives in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Flags of each of the U.S. states were surrounded by American flags representing each of the fallen from that state.
