Flags in Fountain Hills raised to full staff for inauguration

Will return to half-staff Tuesday to honor President Carter

The Town of Fountain Hills has raised its flags to full staff for the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump. Flags have been at half-staff in remembrance of the late former President Jimmy Carter who died Dec. 29. The traditional 30-day period for remembering Carter is not complete. Fountain Hills Mayor Gerry Friedel said the flags would be lowered again on Tuesday to complete the Carter remembrance.

“Out of respect for the presidential inauguration of the 47th President Donald J. Trump. Many residents requested that the town follow the nation’s capital and many other municipalities across the nation to have the flags raised to full staff,” Friedel said. “I agreed as long as we could respectfully lower our flags on Tuesday to continue the memorial to the late 39th President James Earl Carter.”

Town Manager Rachael Goodwin released a statement from the town regarding the flag presentation related to Inauguration Day.
