Following up on the new trimester system schedule

Administrators and teachers reflect halfway through the year

This year, Fountain Hills High School (FHHS) and Fountain Hills Middle School (FHMS) are piloting a new trimester schedule.

The students previously took six classes per semester, but now they take five classes, and the administrators are noticing better grades and fewer behavior issues.

According to Superintendent Dr. Cain Jagodzinski, the Fountain Hills Protect Our Youth coalition determined from the 2022 Arizona Youth Survey that well over half of the Fountain Hills students feel stress and anxiety on a daily basis. The intention of dropping from six to five classes was meant to reduce their workload and reduce the students’ stress.
