We live in a beautiful town, in a beautiful state, in the best country in the world. I can’t do anything about the government fiasco, the Middle East or us giving aid to China.
But my belief is charity begins at home, and that means Fountain Hills. There are a lot of charities that we can help, but right now the Extended Hands Food Bank is in big trouble.
Pastor David Iverson and his wife Sharon are operating on a thread. The only thing keeping them going is the Friday night Fish Fry….if you haven’t tried it…it’s fun and good food.

The state of Arizona gives us a double tax break on any contribution to the food bank. We get a tax credit on the state level and a tax deduction on the federal level…it’s a “no brainer!” The maximum you can give for a tax credit is $400, but any amount would be appreciated.
From July 2012 through this past June, the charitable organization distributed 3,240 pre-packaged food boxes monthly to feed 10,606 individuals. Ninety percent lived in Fountain Hills. Please don’t be in denial and think that we don’t have a problem. They are located at 16548 E. Laser Drive, No. 6, and the phone number is 480/837-0303.
Pastor David just smiles and says “God will provide!” Well, let’s just give God a hand. You’ll sleep better at night knowing no child is going to bed hungry.
