This year’s National Honor Society food drive ended late yesterday with a total of over $10,000 in food and funds! That’s an all-time high for this high school.
For a school of only 600-plus students, these kids came up with amazing results. We will help keep Fountain Hills’ Extended Hands Food Bank supported and allow them to continue their good work.
Highest thanks to this year’s food drive organizer Kaylin George and her merry band of NHS officers — Jackie Torkelson, Kate Domin, Rochelle Skoog, Morgan DiFelice, and Michelle Farella, who put in countless hours and energy.

Thanks are not enough to the English teachers who motivated and fostered the food drive, kept track of funds, and allowed the tracking through their classrooms of countless students with bags and boxes of food.
Oester, Sunshine and Witz — you each have a star in heaven for committing your time and energy to this community service project. Please let your students know they have definitely “paid it forward” this month.
And finally, thanks to all of you staff members who sent down boxes, canned goods and tax credits, and to the FHHS parents whose generosity made this food drive a success.
