Organizers of the Food for Kidz meal packing event planned for Wednesday, Feb. 26, say they need additional monetary contributions to be positioned to fulfill their goal of packing 80,000 meals this year.
To be successful, the event requires about $15,000 of funding and about 200 volunteers the day of the event, said Denny Rubenow, co-chair of the event.
The organizers are especially looking for sponsors to help pay the cost of the bulk ingredients that go into the meals, according to Rubenow.
