On behalf of the Fountain Hills Food for Kidz Committee, I wish to thank the many financial supporters and the hundreds of volunteers who made Thursday’s food pack event a noisy, rousing success. The statistics show that 91,200 meals were packed in two hours, but there’s more to the story.

From youngsters fascinated by a big box of cinnamon or running the meals to the boxing experts, to oldsters powering through the seemingly endless scooping, weighing and sealing with commitment and a smile, and each of you doing it all and toting it all, this year’s food pack showcased the community’s understanding of the need to fight hunger and willingness to help.

To those who missed the 2019 event, stay tuned. The date for the tenth annual, 2020 food pack will be announced soon. To last week’s fun-seeking, hard-working teams: Great job! See you all next year.
